Job Description:
Axiom Advisors, a leading California lobbying firm based in Sacramento, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legislative Assistant to be responsible for providing administrative and advocacy support to senior lobbyists.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Tracking and calendaring legislative and regulatory hearings.
- Providing detailed summaries to the firm and clients of in-person and virtual hearings.
- Attending legislative hearings, committee meetings, and other public events on behalf of the firm’s clients.
- Preparing policy briefs, as well as Legislative and budget updates for clients.
- Formatting, sending, and delivering client position letters and floor alerts.
- Coordinating and scheduling meetings between lead lobbyists, clients, legislators, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintaining email distribution lists and rosters and sending meeting notices and updates.
- Providing administrative support to senior lobbyists and partners, including scheduling, correspondence, and document management.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field is preferred.
· Strong understanding of California’s legislative process and regulatory environment.
· Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
· Demonstrated interest in public policy and advocacy.
