Job Summary:
The Database Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing databases, ensuring the integrity and performance of our data systems, and supporting our ERP applications. This role requires a combination of technical database management skills and a understanding of business processes, particularly those related to manufacturing and distribution.
Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, Administer and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
- Develop, implement, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
- Utilize VBA to automate tasks, streamline data processes, and improve system workflows.
- Collaborate with the IT and business teams to troubleshoot database issues and optimize processes.
- Provide support for ERP systems, particularly Infor Syteline, including database performance tuning, data migration, and integrations.
- Monitor database performance, perform regular backups, and troubleshoot system issues.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, diagrams, and user manuals.
- Conduct regular system health checks and database maintenance tasks such as indexing, backups, and security reviews.
- Assist in the design and implementation of new database systems or updates to existing systems.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
- Provide training and support to end-users in relation to database systems and ERP-related tasks.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Under broad guidelines performs studies and testing, makes recommendations to enhance computing, network and telecommunications infrastructure and services that are increasingly robust, scalable, secure and manageable. Implements enhancements after recommendation approval.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a DBA with a strong background in SQL Server and database management.
- Proficiency in SQL and ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Strong working knowledge of VBA for automating tasks and processes.
- Experience with Infor Syteline (or similar ERP systems) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with data integration, ETL processes, and data migration strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
Qualifications Desired:
- Experience with cloud-based database management systems (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of other ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Familiarity with business intelligence (BI) tools and reporting.
- Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
