Axiom Staffing is seeking a Direct Hire Assistant Shipping & Receiving Manager :
- Position located in Williamsport, MD working Monday-Friday, 7 : 00a-3 : 30p
- Oversee Daily Operations :
- Manage and coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities, including inbound and outbound shipments using SAP.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Provide daily reporting to the accounting department.
- Provide weekly reporting to management.
- Supervise and train warehouse associates to ensure efficient and accurate work performance.
- Cover for vacancies in the loading and unloading of trucks when necessary. Process Shipments :
- Review and process incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping and receiving procedures.
- Prepare shipping documents, including purchase orders, sales orders, and packing slips.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries. Inventory Management :
- Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accurate records.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and notify the manager.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize potential shortages.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of inventory.
- Complete month-end inventory counts. Quality Control :
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for quality and damage.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure product integrity. Warehouse Management :
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) safely and efficiently.
- Enforce safety regulations and procedures.
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions to maximize space utilization.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as purchasing and production, to ensure smooth operations. Safety and Compliance :
- Enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping and receiving regulations, including DOT and IATA. Supervisory Support :
- Assist the Shipping & Receiving Manager in training and supervising warehouse staff.
- Provide guidance and support to team members.
- Assist with scheduling and workload distribution.
- Cover for the Shipping & Receiving Manager in their absence.
