What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Surgical Technician (CST) position at Axion Spine & Neurosurgery?
Axion Spine & Neurosurgery is a medical practice in Atlanta specializing in minimally-invasive and non-surgical spine care. Our elite team of professionals are dedicated to providing best-in-class services. We are looking for a CST, passionate about providing exceptional care for patients, and committed to helping us grow our new Outpatient Surgery Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans for and obtains the equipment and supplies needed for assigned procedures according to physicians' preference and specific patient needs.
- Prepares equipment and supplies according to manufacturer's recommendations and specifications for uses during surgical procedures.
- Monitors sterile field during procedure and takes appropriate measures to insure integrity of sterile field.
- Assists team with safe and appropriate operating room turnover times. Provides support as needed to members of the surgical team.
- Promotes a safe environment. Takes appropriate action in emergency situations, being aware of and controlling hazards which may endanger patients, visitors, and employees. Identifies and reports environmental concerns to the management team.
- Maintains accountability for instruments according to policy throughout the surgical procedure.
Requirements
- Must have graduated from an approved Surgical Technology program
- Must have a current Surgical Technician Certificate (CST)
- Minimum of 1 year experience.
- Experience working in ortho and/or spine implant cases; robotic surgery a huge plus
- BLS - American Heart Association - required
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time during procedures and wear radiation safety aprons
