Axios Professional Recruitment is partnered with a company in Charlevoix, MI who is looking to direct hire a Carpet Install Technician . We are looking for a skilled and reliable Carpet Install Technician to join our team in the marine industry. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, repairing, and maintaining carpet and other floor coverings in boats, yachts, and marine vessels. This role requires attention to detail, an understanding of marine materials, and the ability to work efficiently to meet the high standards of the industry.

Carpet Install Technician Requirements
Measure and cut carpet and flooring materials to fit specific areas on marine vessels, ensuring a precise and professional fit.
Install marine-grade carpets, including custom carpets, runners, and mats, using appropriate adhesives and techniques.
Ensure smooth, wrinkle-free carpet installation, particularly around curves, corners, and seams.
Assess and repair damaged carpets, including patching, re-seaming, or replacing sections of carpeting when needed.
Maintain and restore the aesthetic of carpeted surfaces, ensuring cleanliness and long-lasting results.
Install or replace underlayment’s and backing materials to enhance comfort, durability, and insulation properties.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning and sanding floors to ensure proper adhesion for carpet installation.
Work with subfloor materials such as plywood, fiberglass, or marine-grade composites to create a stable base for carpet installation
Ensure high-quality installations by inspecting finished work for tight seams, clean edges, and flawless finishes.
Address any concerns regarding fit or durability and make adjustments as necessary.
Carpet Install Technician Qualifications
Proven experience in carpet installation, preferably in the marine, automotive, or custom interior industries.
Knowledge of marine-grade carpet materials and installation techniques, including the ability to work with diverse boat flooring types.
Proficiency with tools and equipment required for carpet cutting, trimming, and installation (e.g., utility knives, staplers, seam rollers).
Strong understanding of adhesive products and how to apply them correctly for marine environments.
Attention to detail and a focus on achieving high-quality, aesthetically pleasing results.
Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills, especially in regard to fitting and shaping carpet in challenging areas.
Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) and working in confined spaces.
