- Provide daily healthcare services, first aid, and emergency medical care to students and staff
- Manage quarantine and wellness areas, ensuring adherence to school health policies and safety protocols
- Develop and implement individualized health plans (IHPs) for students with medical conditions
- Establish and oversee health management procedures, including infection control and emergency preparedness
- Conduct health screenings, assessments, and referrals for medical interventions as needed
- Educate students, staff, and parents on health, wellness, nutrition, and personal care practices
- Maintain confidential medical records and complete state-required health documentation
- Participate in school meetings, IEPs, and student support teams as needed
- Ensure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and other school health regulations
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan (required)
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing (ASN, BSN) or related healthcare field
- Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, public health, or community health (preferred)
- Passion for working in an educational environment and promoting student wellness
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented, compassionate, and nurturing approach to student care
- Familiarity with school health regulations, FERPA, HIPAA, and emergency response protocols
