- Conduct behavioral and emotional assessments and prepare detailed reports
- Provide individual and group therapeutic counseling to students
- Develop and implement evidence-based intervention strategies for behavioral and social challenges
- Actively participate in multi-disciplinary IEP and Child Study Team meetings
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support as needed
- Collaborate with educators, families, and community agencies to ensure student success
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and external support services
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with IDEA and district guidelines
- Train and support school staff on social-emotional learning (SEL) and behavioral interventions
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited university
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW) in Michigan
- School Social Work Approval from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, ADA, HIPAA, Section 504, and Child Protection Law Act 238
- Experience with MTSS/RTI frameworks (Tier I, II, and III interventions)
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and staff
