What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Custodian position at Axis 360?
Hello there! Warm and friendly team looking for the right fit to join us as our Building Custodian. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly while observing all health and safety guidelines. Experience is a plus, but we feel strongly about maintaining the positive work atmosphere we’ve created, so we are willing to train the right person. The goal is to maintain the property while positively interacting with our resident community.
Job requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and presentation of the property including curb appeal and upkeep of grounds and amenities. These include multiple buildings, parking lots, grassy areas, hot tub, gym, and other spaces
- Vacuuming, mopping, and dusting hallways, stairwells, elevators, and community spaces
- Cleaning windows
- Power washing sidewalks and exterior spaces
- Grounds trash pickup throughout property exterior and indoor spaces
- Empty trash receptacles, collect and dispose of trash and recyclables, and remove snow and leaves
- Perform minor repairs to equipment and fixtures, and report more significant repairs to the proper authorities
- Ensure the safety of the building and its occupants by following safety policies and promoting workplace safety practices
- Set up and prepare rooms for special events, and assist with loading and unloading supplies
- Help maintain the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Assist maintenance technicians during apartment make readies during trash outs, bag-and-tags, cleaning, and/or other work orders as required
- Cleaning vacant units to prepare for move-ins
- Perform other duties and projects assigned by the management team that will enhance the visual presentation and/or performance of the property
- Snow and ice removal from sidewalks, entryways, and parking lots (this task may be negotiable)
- Lawn care and landscaping (this task may be negotiable)
- There may be an on-call rotation for maintenance emergencies after-hours, including for snow storms. Must be able to arrive to an on-call emergency within 30 minutes
- Understanding that there is a black-out period for vacation from approximately July 11th - August 14th (dates vary slightly by year)
The standard schedule is 8:00am-4:30pm, but there may be some flexibility for the right candidate.
