Job Title : Senior Accountant
Location : Walker, MI
Reports To : Manager of Business Operations
Salary Range : $75,000–$90,000 annually (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Job Overview :
Axis Automation, a growing automated solutions provider, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated full-time Senior Accountant in our Walker, MI office. Reporting to the Manager of Shared Services, the Senior Accountant will take ownership of the month-end close process – preparing and executing month end journal entries, performing account reconciliations – and support Accounting Department financial reporting and analysis (FP&A), liaising with operation departments as needed.
The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with phenomenal communication skills, impeccable accuracy and attention to details, and excels at time management. With a focus on empowering Axis with accurate, up-to-date financial information, this role has the opportunity to grow into a Controller role depending on performance and business needs.
Key Responsibilities :
Month-End Close Process
- Compile Monthly WIP Schedule, incorporating current budget estimates for active projects.
- Review and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts (e.g., bank accounts, credit cards, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, etc.). Investigate and resolve discrepancies in reconciliations promptly.
- Prepare and post standard month end journal entries, maintaining system generated repeat journal entries as needed.
- Generate monthly financial statements for managerial review.
