Job Description: The Shipping and Receiving Associate will primarily support our shop floor team members in a variety of departments from receiving to machine building. This opportunity is unique in that this employee will have exposure to many areas of our organization with an opportunity for advancement through on-the-job training.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
- This includes receiving packing slips into the ERP system
- Accuracy of information when receiving into the ERP system is of utmost importance so keen attention to detail is important
- This includes receiving packing slips into the ERP system
- Serve as primary party responsible for moving received material to staging areas (including receiving steel and machining department inputs)
- Collaborates and communicates with logistics personnel, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products
- Support machine builders, fabricators, machinists and electricians by correctly sorting and delivering received goods
- Responsible for collection of packing slips for all orders
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude
- Operate Hilo and overhead crane (training will be provided)
- Run errands to suppliers via truck, or truck and trailer for shop floor
- This includes driving a truck that requires a DOT physical and associated DOT Medical Certificate
- Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
- Confirms order acceptance in the ERP system
- Coordinating month close for all receipts
- Coordinate all returns of purchased goods
- Possible additional requests:
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Possible transport of items to coating or other suppliers for processing
- Assembly of small components
- Kitting of purchased parts consolidated with BOMs for assembly purposes
- Maintenance of facility items
- Preventative maintenance
- Process development
- Developing/refining process for incoming and outbound items
Education and Experience Requirement
- Must have strong desire to learn and grow
- 1-year experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanically inclined is a plus
- Must possess valid driver's license
Hourly Rate: $20-$24
