Job Description - VA Billing Specialist

Summary
The VA Billing Specialist will play an essential role in processing VA (Veterans Affairs) claims and ensuring accurate, timely billing. This role requires a solid understanding of VA claims requirements, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to issue resolution. As part of the RCM team, the VA Billing Specialist will support efforts to optimize VA claim processing, minimize denials, and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.
Job Duties
- Claims Submission and Review :
Process VA billing claims, ensuring accurate and compliant submissions.
Monitor claim rejections and denials, investigate root causes, and perform necessary corrections.
Collaborate with Client Success Managers and other billing team members to address client billing inquiries and troubleshoot issues.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VA billing requirements and implement changes as needed to comply with regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) :
Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in medical billing, with specific experience in VA claims preferred.
High school diploma or GED required; additional certifications in medical billing or coding are a plus.
Proficiency in billing software (mention specific software if known) and familiarity with VA claims procedures and regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to effectively collaborate with clients and internal teams.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
