Software Engineer within Test Platform

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer who likes seeing the big picture, to work with our productions systems in our team Production Test Platform here in Lund. Our team is an important part of Axis product development, and all Axis products are manufactured using our platform. Come and join us!

Who is your future team? 

You will be part of the Production Test Platform, a team of 12 dedicated engineers responsible for developing and supporting tests across various areas, including audio, radar, PCBA, imaging, and primarily surveillance cameras. Our core focus is on developing software for test systems, while also taking responsibility for defining testing procedures and ensuring seamless integration between software and hardware. These tests are utilized in high-volume production at our global manufacturing facilities, where millions of products are tested annually.

Our team is part of a larger division of about 80 engineers working with production engineering and technology, and together with our colleagues within electronics and mechanical engineering we develop and support production systems globally. 

What you will do here as a Software Engineer 

You will work in a small team of 2-3 people on the development of production test modules, implementing the software needed to execute the production tests using C# programming, defining the requirements of the hardware, and performing integration of the tests. The software deployed in production is distributed via an installer, which is influenced by multiple teams in various ways. As part of this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the existing software within this installer. New software versions are typically required by product development projects, and you will ensure seamless integration between hardware and software before delivering the final test to these projects. This software delivery will then be utilized by the product development teams during the production startup of their new products.

Who are you? 
You are a Software Engineer with a few years of experience. You are a curious, driven team player who likes to learn new things as well as being able to solve complex technical challenges in a team-focused atmosphere. We believe that you have a strong personal drive and get inspired by working in and creating an environment of openness, creativity, trust, commitment, and encouragement. You enjoy working with both software and hardware and bringing it all together. You should have a good ability to transfer knowledge to others. The ability to communicate is fundamental both within the project teams and in contact with our manufacturers.

You will primarily work in C# .NET in Windows environment. We are looking for someone with a university/college degree, preferably in computer science or equivalent. Other educations such as engineering physics, engineering mathematics or electronics are also applicable. You love to produce maintainable code and master the chain from creative discussions, building code and stable incremental releases.

Your main duties will be:

• Development of new software modules using C# .NET
• Supporting product development projects
• Working with continuous improvement of team ways of working, new tools etc.

It is a plus if you have experience of one or more of the below:

• Git/Gerrit
• Jira/Confluence
• NI Teststand
• Python
• Electronics
• Experience of test development
