Position Overview: We are looking for an seasoned Commercial Construction Estimator who is detail-oriented, analytical, and possesses a strong understanding of construction processes. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our project development process by accurately estimating project costs, preparing comprehensive bids, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs and material pricing to determine project expenses.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for the estimation process.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and pricing breakdowns for submission to clients.
- Evaluate project risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize project costs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies to ensure competitiveness in bidding.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations as required.
- Assist in value engineering initiatives to maximize project value while controlling costs.
- Support project teams during the pre-construction phase by providing accurate and timely cost information.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator, with a minimum of 10 years in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, On-Screen Takeoff) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse project teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
