Construction Superintendent

Axis Construction Services in Groveport, Ohio is currently seeking a full-time Construction Superintendent to join our team working mostly in Central Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of job site management. This includes staffing and scheduling, safety and compliance, maintaining owner and subcontractor relations, ensuring quality of work and managing the budget.

Pay: $80k-$90k depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Determines labor requirements and dispatches workers according. Outlines all employees with their scope of work and ensures that they understand all tasks.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings specifications, scopes of work and project schedule. Determine appropriate construction methods and necessary tools for each project. Follows all purchasing rules according to the company handbook.
• Maintains daily reports on projects and provides all receipts and timecards to the office staff, to be submitted weekly to the office each Monday.
• Schedules the project in logical steps and budgets time required to meet deadlines.
• Notifies subcontractors when needed on site.
• Confers with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as: work procedures, complaints, questions, construction problems, weather delays, or emergencies, responding in a timely fashion. Notifying the office when significant changes are made.
• Interprets and explains plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer.
• Ensures that all employees and subcontractors are abiding by all safety regulations. Inspects and reviews projects to monitor compliance. Makes sure all construction personnel are using authorized restrooms, placing construction material where it won’t be lost or damaged, and disposing of trash to proper receptacles.
• Occasionally working with tools as required. Work will be limited to carpentry, minor selective demolition, and general clean up.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least five (5) years of experience working in the construction industry; high end custom residential OR commercial experience preferred.
• Restaurant construction experience a plus.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Project management experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety requirements.
