Director of Diagnostics/Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Position Summary: The Director of Diagnostics/Licensed Clinical Psychologist provides supervision and training for clinical psychologists, postdoctoral candidates, and Psychometrists at Axis for Autism clinics and completes comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations in accordance with all professional best practices and guidelines. The Director will work closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure timeliness and efficient services for clients and their families. Responsible for ensuring that all critical tasks are fulfilled on a timely and high-quality basis.
Your Role with Axis:
- Provides contemporary and effective clinical oversight and professional staff supervision of team members providing development, education, evaluation and/or treatments to clients.
- Conducts comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations that include administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, clinical interview with caregivers, and assessment of cognition and adaptive functioning; Director will complete or supervise evaluations each month.
- Composes diagnostic reports and reviews findings and recommendations with families.
- Director will approve and co-sign reports completed by postdoctoral candidates.
- Provides supervision and feedback to licensed clinical psychologists, postdoctoral candidates, and psychometrists.
- Provides didactic trainings, as needed, to supervisees.
- Practices in accordance with APA ethical standards.
- Submits session notes and therapy documentation for billing in a timely manner.
- Works closely and collaboratively with the intake, billing, and clinical teams.
- Complies fully with all medical records and information privacy regulations, local, state and federal.
- Takes all steps necessary to ensure exceptional service to clients by all team members supervised.
- Collects and analyzes data for the purposes of clinical service evaluation and improvement.
- Identify opportunities for optimization and scalability improvements.
- Demonstrates ability to regularly change priorities in order to accomplish all critical tasks and responsibilities.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, to ensure understanding by all affected individuals.
- Maintains consistent alignment with AXIS mission of advancing research and providing a lifetime of support for individuals with autism while putting our clients and their family members first on a day-in and day-out basis.
- Maintains primary focus upon work duties and results as well as client services needs with secondary focus on administrative tasks, while maintaining minimal distraction on achieving position goals by non-work-related responsibility and non-client service activities.
- Performs other special projects and duties as necessary and requested.
Who You Are:
- Ph.D./Psy.D. from an APA-accredited Clinical/Counseling/School Psychology program.
- Arizona Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
- Eligible for enrollment with insurance companies.
- At least 3 years prior experience working with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Disabilities.
- Expertise in the administration and interpretation of psychological evaluations, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to and work with diverse backgrounds, human capabilities and limitations, and cultures.
- Interest in service to individuals with specialized and occasionally complex needs.
- Ability to communicate expressively and receptively.
- Ability to lead, nurture and drive the business.
