Position Summary: The role of the Nurse, RN is to promote and foster health, assess dysfunction, aid patients recovery, improve or learn coping skills and abilities, maximize strengths, and prevent further disability. Focus is on assessment and monitoring of safety, self-care activities, and psychobiological courses of therapy.
Our ideal candidate for our Nurse, RN position will have graduated from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado. They will have three years nursing experience, preferably in a psychiatric/mental health setting, knowledge of psychiatric medication and managed care experience. They will also have experience working with a multi-disciplinary team and working with mental health conditions.
Salary: Starting at $38.50 (Starting $36.00 locale differential $2.50 = $38.50) - $40.66 per hour and considers preferred experience and preferred education described above.

Physical demands: Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Axis Health System locations. Possible potential exposure to communicable disease. Required Skills:
- Ability to quickly develop rapport with individuals to perform essential nursing duties and resolve crisis situations as necessary.
- Ability to assess individuals potential for dangerousness to self, to others and/or grave disability.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate successfully with Axis Health System staff and external customers.
- Working knowledge of involuntary mental health holds (27-65), and alcohol and drug Emergency Commitments (EC) and Involuntary Commitments (IC).
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR, Pt. 2.
- Knowledge of community health and mental health resources and their eligibility criteria.
- Knowledge and ability to operate standard office equipment including scanner, computer, calculator, copy machine, fax, and multi-line telephone.
- Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and ability to access the internet.
- Ability to be helpful and sensitive to the needs of all employees, while concurrently respecting corporate policies, procedures, and priorities.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
- Ability to communicate job-related information to individuals and small groups.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; plan own work schedule effectively and multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes-hectic environment with frequent interruptions.

- Must have current drivers license, qualify for commercial vehicle insurance, and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with Axis Health System insurance agency.

Additional eligibility requirements: Annual Flu immunization, Annual TB screening, CPI training within 90 days of hire, BLS PRO certification required within 90 days of hire.
