Therapist – Substance Use Disorder (SUD) – Full Time – Durango, Colorado

Position Summary: The role of the Therapist is to participate as a member of the program team to design and implement the individual care plans for program clients in accordance with policies, rules, regulations, and directives which apply. Utilizes a variety of treatment approaches and case coordination to work with a diverse client population.
We are seeking an energetic, creative, and compassionate individual to fill our open therapist position with the Durango Substance Use Disorder Team. Our SUD team collaborates with local partners such as probation and Hilltop to ensure coordination and continuity of care for our patients.
Our team: We take a team approach to substance use treatment by discussing cases weekly as a team. Each member of the team brings with them a wealth of knowledge, both learned and lived, and those experiences are equally valued and are used in the work that we do. On-going quality supervision is valued by our organization and team members provide consultation and support as well. Axis provides training and support to enhance your evidenced-based clinical toolbox as well as career aspirations in the exciting field of substance use disorders.
Our ideal candidate will have their master’s degree in one of the recognized mental health professions and be Colorado Licensed or license eligible (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LAC). Experience working with substance use disorders is strongly preferred, but candidates passionate about supporting adults navigating substance use disorders in our community are strongly encouraged to apply.
Salary:
- Therapist, Unlicensed – Starts at $23.50/hour (Base rate $21.00 Locale $2.50) - $26.52 non-exempt. Exemption status based on annualized salary
- Therapist-Licensed 1: Starts at $30.50/hour (Base rate $28.00 Locale $2.50) - $34.86 exemption status based on annualized salary
*Rate will be determined based on experience and education

Physical demands: Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Axis Health System locations. Possible potential exposure to communicable disease. Required Skills:
- Knowledge and ability to operate standard office equipment including scanner, computer, calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.

- Must have current driver’s license, qualify for commercial vehicle insurance and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with Axis Health System’ insurance agency.

Additional eligibility requirements: Annual Flu immunization, Annual TB screening, CPI training within 90 days of hire, BLS PRO certification required within 90 days of hire.
