Position Summary
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), you play a pivotal role in our mental health care team. This will include, but is not limited to providing treatment administration, attending to acute care needs, and providing supportive therapy to patients. You shall provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment interventions for adults and children over five years of age. You will focus on delivering high-quality patient-centered care to individuals experiencing mental health disorders, utilizing your expertise in psychiatric nursing to foster mental health and wellbeing.
Role and Responsibilities
Stewardship
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based mental health care to patients across the lifespan, including comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, psychotherapy, and integrative therapies.
- Manage and optimize treatment plans and medication regimens, ensuring efficient resource use and high-quality care.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote mental health awareness and education.
- Ensure the quality and timely completion of all medical documentation and notes, maintaining up-to-date patient records that reflect current treatment plans.
Customer Experience
- Establish and maintain strong therapeutic relationships, providing compassionate and empathetic care and effectively communicating treatment plans.
- Foster a therapeutic relationship with patients, encouraging their active participation in the treatment process.
- Enhance patient and family satisfaction through responsive service and proactive involvement in the care process.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle choices.
Technical Performance and Precision
- Conduct detailed psychiatric evaluations, apply evidence-based treatment interventions, and monitor outcomes accurately.
- TMS: Gain proficiency in patient selection, treatment planning, and administration of TMS, including understanding contraindications and managing side effects.
- Spravato: Develop expertise in the safe administration of Spravato, monitoring patients during and after treatment, and managing potential side effects.
- Holistic Integrative Care: Incorporate evidence-based integrative therapies such as nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, yoga, and nutritional supplements into patient care.
- Implement emergency protocols and manage crisis situations effectively, ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical guidelines during acute episodes.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic and coordinated care.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and care coordination activities.
- Collaborate with community organizations to improve access to mental health services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and review patient cases involving TMS and Spravato, fostering a collaborative approach to patient care.

Qualifications
Education
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
Experience and Credentials
- Current, unrestricted nurse practitioner license in Colorado.
- National board certification as a PMHNP-BC.
- DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in psychiatric settings is essential.
- A satisfactory background check inclusive of driving records, criminal records, employment references, education, Social Security and OIG/GSA exclusions.
- Authorization to work in the United States without requiring authorization sponsorship by the company for this position now or in the future.
- Adequate home office setup to perform administrative tasks remotely, with stable internet connectivity.
Technology Requirements
- Proficient with electronic health records (EHR) to include Athena EMR, and skilled in using telehealth platforms.
- Experience using Deepscribe is a definite plus.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and the Microsoft Office suite for administrative tasks.
