What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Operator position at Axis Pipe and Tube Inc?
Brief Summary:
The Entry Operator uses machinery to move the product further down the line. Entry operators will often coordinate with teammates to ensure accurate and timely production.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently, stage pipe for threading and tooling processing; schedule loads in order to produce maximum load capabilities.
- Must set and adjust variables following established practice, and operate as necessary to comply with established procedures.
- Continuous mental and visual attention in loading, operating, running tests and checks, maintaining records and other duties involving constant alertness.
- Understand and utilize the controls & instruments on the threading equipment to process materials properly.
- Perform routine maintenance on all work equipment. Maintains clean work area.
- Operating an overhead crane and forklift as needed to load and unload pipe.
- Must perform duties in a high heat / high humidity environment.
Qualifications:
- One-year certificate from college or technical school OR
- Three to six months related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Knowledge of use and care of common hand tools.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
