Title: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Alpharetta, GA (Onsite)
Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent with AXISCADES.
Position Overview
The Design Engineer will support the Switchgear production team by managing project drawing packages for manufacturing and as-built statuses. This role involves enhancing the EPLAN software and contributing to the development of training materials for the team.
Job Responsibilities
Modify existing project drawings and project databases as needed.
Review project requests related to technical electrical controls design and implementation of electrical controls hardware.
Collaborate in a team to develop EPLAN CAD software, including building libraries, templates, circuits, and databases.
Assist with the creation of training documentation and conduct training sessions for the team on EPLAN.
Education & Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field.
3-5 years of experience required, or a Master’s degree with 1 years of experience, or a 2-year degree with 5 years of experience.
Previous experience in Power Distribution and/or Electrical Control Systems is preferred.
Technical Skills Required
Proficiency in Electrical Controls and CAD Software Development (beyond basic usage).
Experience with the full lifecycle of EPLAN software development including business/systems analysis, requirements gathering, functional specification authoring, development, testing, and delivery.
Mid-level knowledge of electronic controls equipment in schematic and physical layouts applicable in CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN).
Familiarity with IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, UL certifications related to electrical controls in panels and switchgear.
Technical Skills Desired
Proficiency in MS Access Database, EPLAN, Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical, AUTOLISP.
Soft Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Effective problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, handling multiple projects at various stages.
