How does this role contribute to our collective success?
The function of the Data Loss Prevention Analyst is to support and assist the Information Risk Management (IRM) team to protect Axis confidential and sensitive information. This is achieved through the monitoring, investigation, and implementation of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and policies that comply with applicable laws and regulations in all jurisdictions in which AXIS conducts business. The role requires close interaction and partnership with the various data owners, business units and support functions.
The analyst will assist the DLP Team to ensure that AXIS is effectively safeguarding company proprietary information, in order to build and maintain trust with our customers, employees, regulators and business partners and will also assist with the change management efforts needed to maintain this trust for data protection at AXIS Capital.
What will you do in this role?
- Able to analyze security events from multiple sources and prioritize alerting. Understand detection tools and methods for correlating events following established procedures. Dispositions events with a high degree of confidence, flags opportunities for tuning, escalation, and communication of high severity events to leadership.
- Monitor Data Loss Prevention tools to ensure Axis proprietary data is kept safe from exfiltration.
- Perform in-depth investigations on alerts generated from within the DLP security tool suite and collaborate with other IRM teams.
- Work closely with IRM teams to ensure data protection processes, access controls and tools work effectively.
- Implement and maintain data protection tools focused on Data Classification such as structured and unstructured data.
- Review data exports from archiving software and compiling reports for internal and external stakeholders, such as e-Discovery cases.
- Assist with audits of data processing activities and assessment of information management practices within AXIS to ensure compliance with applicable law and regulation and monitoring organization and practices of third parties that process information on behalf of AXIS.
- Assist with data events and data subject requests and preparation of data protection impact assessments.
About You:

What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 0-1 years of IT experience in security or DLP tools, ideally in the insurance industry.
- 0-1 years of experience in an insurance, legal, compliance or data management role.
- Ability to leverage DLP tools to perform daily monitoring of data within the entire company.
- Ability to triage DLP alerts and produce investigation reports.
- Ability to perform investigations by reviewing logs from multiple security tools and detect anomalies.
- Ability to quickly learn required daily processes and DLP tooling to provide quality monitoring.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to focus quickly on key elements of legal and regulatory risk.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to a non-technical audience, gain confidence of business colleagues and perform as an effective team player.
- Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment, to prioritize and manage a varied workload and to assist with development of solutions to business problems.

What we offer:
For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $60,000 - $90,000 (CT). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.
In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance. Where this role is based in the United States of America, this role is exempt for FLSA purposes.
Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
