How does this role contribute to our collective success?

The Operations Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the underwriting process by assisting Underwriters (UWs) and Account Managers (AMs) with general underwriting administration, processing, and clerical/office support activities. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry and develop valuable skills in data analysis, project management, and risk assessment.

What will you do in this role?

• Data Collection and Analysis:
  • Utilize internal and external resources to gather and analyze data to aid in decision-making processes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations based on data analysis to support underwriting and risk management activities.
• Project Work and Accountability:
  • Take ownership of projects related to underwriting, analytics, and risk management.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
• Administrative/Data Entry Assignments:
  • Assist operations teams in preparing, processing, and delivering new and renewal insurance proposals.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for underwriting activities.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
• Participation in Special Projects:
  • Engage in special projects as assigned by supervisors.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements and innovative solutions.

What you need to have:

·Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related fields.

·Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a hybrid work environment.

·Technically adept and digitally savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.

·Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

·Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·Enthusiastic and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges

In this role, you will typically be required to:

Embrace the hybrid culture offered at AXIS, you need to be in office 3 days per week.

Much of the work involves using computers for data entry, analysis, and communication. Comfort with prolonged screen time is necessary.

While much of the work may be desk-bound, there might be occasions requiring mobility within the office environment, such as attending meetings or accessing filing systems.
