What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Axium Foods, Inc?
Responsibilities:
- Follow the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), uniform and dress code, and product safety requirements.
- Pick up finished goods from Drop Area and transport them for transfer to our shipping Warehouse.
- Report any issues to the Warehouse Manager
- Retrieve and transport materials to their proper area for put away
- Stack and place materials
- Assist in the receiving and verification of received materials
- Retrieve and transport materials on a timely basis
- Position materials at the desired location
- Satisfactorily complete the Lift Truck Training Program
- Load and unload tractor trailers and move materials and finished goods throughout the plant, safely using sit down and narrow aisle reach lift trucks
- Conduct daily maintenance checks on lift trucks
- Check inventory, perform cycle counts, weigh product, tag product, and use a handheld barcode scanner
- Communicate and work effectively with supervisor and coworkers
- Work efficiently and independently while handling multiple tasks

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
· Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.
· Experience with equipment and processes preferred.
· Experience with cycle counting preferred.
· Computer and RFID scanner experience preferred.
Language Skills
1. Ability to read and write English.
2. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
3. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to team leaders, managers, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job:
· The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; and talk and listen.
· The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and use foot/feet to operate machine.
· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job included close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
