Snowflake Data Architect
Location: Springhouse, PA USA onsite
Position 6 months contract to hire
We are looking for a highly skilled Snowflake Architect to lead the design, development, and optimization of our Snowflake data platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL/ELT pipelines while ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Architect & Design:
Design scalable, efficient, and cost-effective data warehouse solutions using Snowflake.
Define data architecture, modeling, and integration best practices.
Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and security of the Snowflake platform.
2. Data Modeling & ETL/ELT:
Develop data models (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, etc.) to optimize performance.
Implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, or other tools.
Integrate structured & semi-structured data (JSON, Parquet, Avro, etc.).
3. Cloud & Security:
Implement data governance, access control (RBAC), and encryption strategies.
Work with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform for Snowflake deployment and management.
4. Performance Optimization:
Optimize warehouse sizing, clustering, caching, and auto-scaling.
Monitor query performance and recommend tuning strategies.
5. Collaboration & Leadership:
Work closely with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Business Stakeholders to define requirements.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and best practices.
Support migration of legacy data warehouses (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) to Snowflake.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
10 years of experience in data architecture and data warehousing.
4 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.
Strong expertise in SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
Pharma experience is a plus
Experience with ETL/ELT tools like dbt, Matillion, Talend, Informatica, or AWS Glue.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and data security best practices.
Experience in Python, Scala, or Java for data processing is a plus.
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Snowflake SnowPro Advanced Architect Certification
