What are the responsibilities and job description for the GSOC Lead Security Officer (Onsite) position at Axon?
Your Impact
As a Lead for our Global Physical Security Team, you will report directly to the Security Supervisor. You will assist in the responsibility for overseeing team members during a designated shift and site. In your role you will ensure security team members adhere to all post orders, protocols, procedures, regulations, and compliance with company policies. You will be the first point of contact for escalations on incidents and emergencies in the absence of the Physical Security Supervisor or Security Director.
What You’ll Do
Location: Onsite at a designated location, 5 days a week.
Reports To: Global Security Site Supervisor
Direct Reports: 2/3 Security Officers
- Partners with Security Supervisor to monitor and organize shift activities according to schedule requirements and staff availability. Establish and coordinate work schedules and post coverage
- Conducts bi-weekly 1 on 1 meetings with assigned shift team, document conversations while reporting performance and talent findings to leadership
- Communicate with Supervisors, peers and subordinates-providing information by telephone, in written form, email, or in person
- Responsible for reviewing and editing of incident reports on assigned shift prior to submittal to leadership
- Recommend or implement training as needed
- Conducts inspections of various security posts to ensure on-duty Security officers have required assigned equipment AB4, radios etc.
- Ensure all officers are properly performing their assigned tasks and appropriately tracking them in approved software
- Maintains daily shift activity and incident log available to leadership
- Ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises
- Possess excellent written and oral communication along with interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others in a professional and effective manner
- Coordinates activities with local police and emergency agencies as appropriate
- Ensure all employees and visitors have correct credentials for accessing Axon property. (ID badges and passes)
- Assist employees and visitors with any concerns they may have
- Report suspicious activity, criminal behavior, and security breaches

- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and exercise sound, independent judgment
- Solid conflict resolution skills with the ability to mitigate tense situations
- Possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills, have a positive attitude with the ability to interact with others in a professional and effective manner
- Proficient computer / technology skills needed
- Must be reliable, accountable, punctual, have a strong work ethic, flexible and ability to pivot when needed
- Must have a strong grasp of appropriate and professional verbal / written communication
- Possess a can-do attitude and be able to motivate others
- A proven history of continuous learning in leadership
- Three or more years of leadership experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods.
- Ability to write or type for extended periods.
- Ability to read and analyze information on a computer screen and paper documents for extended periods.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to reach, bend, and stoop as needed to perform basic office tasks.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying items such as office supplies, documents, laptop, or other equipment (generally under 20 pounds).
