Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team at Axsendo Clinical Research. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in a dual capacity, handling both administrative and clinical responsibilities essential for the seamless execution of clinical trials. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a patient-centered approach.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
- Prepare patients for clinical trial procedures, including collecting medical history, vital signs, and informed consent documentation.
- Assist with sample collection (e.g., blood draws, urine tests) and ensure proper handling, labeling, and documentation per protocol.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
- Provide support to investigators and coordinators during clinical assessments and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain clinical supplies, equipment sterilization, and inventory management.
Administrative Duties
- Schedule patient visits and manage appointment reminders, ensuring protocol adherence and trial timelines.
- Perform data entry, maintain trial documentation, and update electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Coordinate with sponsors, labs, and other stakeholders to ensure timely reporting and documentation submission.
- Assist in preparing regulatory and sponsor-required documentation.
- Handle incoming calls and emails, addressing patient inquiries and routing messages appropriately.
QualificationsRequired
- Education: Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in clinical research or a healthcare setting preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification and experience are highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and GCP regulations is a plus.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Devana and/or Salesforce platforms.
- Experience with CRIO (Clinical Research IO) software.
- Proficiency in using Adobe tools for document handling.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Understanding of system integration and workflow management within these platforms.
