What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/LPN position at Axtell Clinic?

Medical assistants/ LPN's provide physician support services involving clinical tasks such as maintaining patient records (EMR), preparing patients and patient rooms for examination, and assisting physicians with exams.

This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities for Medical Assistant

  • Check-in patients, obtain necessary patient information to update and maintain patient records
  • Preparing patients for examination with doctor
  • Collect medication and medical history from patients
  • HIPAA and OSHA compliance
  • Administer injections and vaccinations
  • May perform routine specimen collection and tests
  • Prepare equipment, supplies, and physician trays for examination rooms
  • Clean instruments
  • Clean patients rooms as applicable
  • Assist physician with medical treatments, procedures, and exams
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and restock exam rooms with appropriate supplies
  • Others duties as assigned

Qualifications for Medical Assistant

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program or active LPN License in the State of Kansas.
  • Strong computer skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times
  • Patient focus
  • Team player with positive attitude
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
  • Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
  • Dependable and reliable attendance
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times

Environment/Physical Demands

Medical Assistants/LPN's spend a great deal of their professional day walking, standing, bending, and moving, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies. It is reasonable to anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds in any given day. Positions support large family practice clinic.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29,000.00 - $45,120.00 per year
