Job Description:
SPIRE Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to teach high school English courses and collaborate with core content teachers to create interdisciplinary projects. This role requires working exclusively at SPIRE Academy, an affiliate of Grand River Academy, serving students with a strong passion for athletics.
Teacher Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Teach five sections of English.
- Collaborate with other teachers to design interdisciplinary projects.
- Work closely with athletic coaches to support student learning.
- Communicate professionally with parents, faculty, and staff to address student needs and differentiate curriculum.
- Use various data sources to evaluate student ability and track growth, sharing progress with parents, faculty, and coaches.
- Address academic, emotional, and social needs as part of the academic team.
- Complete periodic progress reports to assess student development.
- Participate in the seminar curriculum as required.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education (English).
- Preference given to candidates with 3 years of teaching experience.
- Experience working with athletes and international students is preferred.
- Strong background in supporting diverse student needs is a plus.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Obtain and maintain the required permit to drive students for school-related activities.
- Serve as a positive role model for students, faculty, and the community.
- Participate in department and faculty meetings.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Faculty/Staff Handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
- Support the school’s mission and leadership.
