Summary
As a Welder/Fabricator, you will be essential in constructing and assembling metal structures and components. Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, your core responsibilities will include reading blueprints, utilizing hand and power tools, and performing various welding techniques, including MIG and TIG welding. Responsibilities:
- Perform welding duties using wire welding GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), or GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), according to blueprints.
- Adjust weld parameter as needed to accommodate varying thicknesses of steel and stainless steel
- Operate and/or use related equipment and tools which include forklifts, hoists, grinders (portable & bench), cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, a tape measure, and welding equipment.
- Accurately measure and lay out locations for welded components
- Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, follow daily start-up & basic maintenance list, and inform lead/supervisor of any issues/malfunctions.
- Travel to customer location and refurbish/fabricate and or weld on equipment
- Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, work instructions, and procedures.
- To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills:
- Welder/Fabricators must be able to read and interpret blueprints and other engineering documents.
- Knowledge of Metric system
- Willingness to travel for weeks (June to September)
- Work in a small team
- Must successfully complete in-house welding test
- Fabricating experience in heavy machinery preferred
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. but most work areas have overhead crane access
- Maintain level of work performance in accordance with company standards and/or job order specifications.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a metal Fabricator/Welder
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions
Salary : $15 - $18
