Job Responsibilities:
As a locum gastroenterologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of digestive system disorders in adults and potentially children. Your duties will include conducting comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing and implementing treatment plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school, as well as residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Fellowship training in gastroenterology is preferred but not required. You must also hold Board certification in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA and possess an active and unrestricted medical license in Missouri. At least one year of experience providing gastroenterology care in a clinical or hospital setting is highly desirable.
