General JobResponsibilities :
Evaluate patients experiencing acuteor chronic pain, review medical history and perform physical examsto diagnose pain sources.Designindividualized treatment plans that may include medications,physical therapy and interventional procedures such as nerve blocksor spinal injections.Perform pain-reliefprocedures, such as epidural steroid injections, facet jointinjections and radiofrequency ablations.Monitor patient progress and adjust the planas necessary, ensuring patient safety and the management of sideeffects.Provide patient education aboutconditions, treatment options and post-care management strategies.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team todevelop and implement patient care plans.Maintain accurate and thorough medicalrecords.Skills :
Extensive understanding of painmechanisms, assessment techniques, and both pharmacologic andnon-pharmacologic treatment options.Abilityto assess complex cases and make informed decisions on appropriateinterventions.Proficiency in performinginterventional pain procedures.Capable ofidentifying and resolving issues related to pain managementtreatment plans.Strong communication skillsto explain complex medical information to patients.Flexibility to adapt to new work environmentsand different medical teams.Minimum EducationRequirements :
Doctorof Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)degree from an accredited medical school.Residency training program in anesthesiology,physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, or a related fieldaccredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate MedicalEducation (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).Fellowship training in pain management,focusing on advanced pain management techniques and interventionalprocedures.License& Certifications :
Board certification in pain medicineby the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), the American Boardof Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) or the AmericanBoard of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).Active and unrestricted medical license inCalifornia.Experience :
