What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer - Automated Test Equipment (ATE) position at Ayar Labs?
ATE Engineer
Location: San Jose
As an Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Engineer, you will contribute to the development and maturity of a wafer sort test program for Ayar Labs products. Responsibilities include interfacing with Design for Test (DfT) engineers, Design engineers, and Test engineers to create test programs on automated test equipment. You will be joining a small team in a dynamic startup environment, where each member is expected to take on a wide range of responsibilities and to learn and grow with the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define, develop, implement, and support ATE test program solutions for silicon photonics (CMOS photonics) products
- ATE tester configuration, including meeting with vendors to customize advanced tester modules
- Understanding of DFT insertion techniques including Scan, ATPG, and LBIST
- Support pattern generation and debug
- Identify gaps in test coverage and design and implement new tests to improve coverage
- Work with vendors for probe card and load board design
- Test and validate product design compliance with margin to specification across all functional areas of the products
- Review technical specifications and interfaces for conformity to design guidelines and functionality
- Interpret test data and create reports based on the results
- Work with Ayar Labs Data Engineering to ensure that test results flow smoothly into internal database
Basic Qualifications:
- BS / MS Electrical/Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of CMOS hardware
- Hands-on experience with bench equipment such as oscilloscope, VI meter, signal generator and analyzers
- Able to collaborate across geographic sites and time zones
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of DFT insertion techniques including Scan, ATPG, and LBIST
- Able to read and understand firmware code
- Understanding of complex architecture, firmware, software, and hardware specifications
- Windows and Linux environments
- ATE software development and working knowledge of 93K ATE systems
- Able to analyze problems and apply corrective actions
- Possessing effective organizational and planning skills
Annual salary range: $100,000 - $118,000
