Ayar Labs is seeking a Manager, Quality to play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge Photonics products that exceed industry standards. This Manager will lead the Quality Assurance team, drive the implementation and maintenance of our ISO-based Quality Management System (QMS), and champion a culture of continuous improvement. This is a critical leadership position that directly impacts our product excellence and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions
Strategic Quality Leadership:
- Lead and develop a high-performing Quality Assurance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Define and implement quality strategies that align with Ayar Labs' overall business objectives.
- Drive a proactive approach to quality, anticipating and mitigating potential risks.
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure adherence to all relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive Supplier Quality Management (SQM) program, including supplier selection, audits, and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish and maintain supplier quality metrics.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Lead thorough root cause analysis (8D) and implement corrective and preventive actions to address customer issues and prevent recurrence.
- Monitor customer satisfaction related to product quality.
- Identify and implement process improvements using methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across all aspects of the organization.
- Utilize data-driven analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Generate and present comprehensive quality reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain meticulous records of quality activities, audits, and corrective actions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive semiconductor and/or optoelectronics industry experience in quality management,
- Expertise in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) methodologies, including 8D and 5 Whys.
- Demonstrated success in leading and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
- Optical communications, photonics and/or optoelectronic product experience.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience implementing ISO 9001 standards.
- Six Sigma experience and certification.
- Experience in Foundry qualification.
