PCB Layout Design Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA (ON-SITE)
Ayar Labs is seeking a PCB Layout Design Engineer to help us revolutionize high performance computing. This role will be responsible for maintaining PCB libraries and designing complex printed circuit boards for a novel photonic interconnect technology. Ayar Labs is a highly collaborative environment; the successful candidate will be organized and communicative.
Essential Functions
- Design printed circuit boards according to complex electrical and mechanical requirements
- Manage a component library database, creating and maintaining components: symbol and footprint
- Create documentation for fabrication and manufacturing
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors or technical degree in relevant field
- Strong familiarity with Altium and Allegro PCB Design Tools
- 2 years of experience designing complex multi-layer PCBs, 12 layer
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Allegro, design translation tools
- Experience designing high-speed, controlled impedance, blind and buried vias
- Experience designing flex and rigi-flex PCBs
- Lab experience, soldering and reworking PCBs
- Basic CAD tool experience (Solidworks, Fusion)
Salary range: $104,000 - $136,000
