Full Time Exempt Professional Job Description
The Financial Aid Coordinator will support the activities related to financial aid eligibility and administration of our AFT alumni and students. This includes (and not limited to) activities such as completion grant, community service, mass communications, PPI issues associated with various applications (TN Promise, UT Promise, FAFSA). An essential element of this role is building and maintaining strong relationships with counselors and key stakeholders that align with our values in promoting college access and success for rural students. Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Contact completion grant applicants to determine need and eligibility, and verify students have unmet need in budget to ensure OFA is not exceeded.
- Notify counselors and college retention coaches about completion grants and unmet needs of students.
- Oversee community service: auditing submissions, finding and maintaining viable community service opportunities, and communicating benchmarks with both students and counselors.
- Partner with IT to ensure opportunities are up to date on Ayers website
- Responsible for TN Promise Communications regarding eligibility, deadlines, benchmarks, completion of benchmarks, and other relevant information.
- Responsible for ongoing communication with students enrolled at community colleges and Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology to provide retention services throughout post-secondary education.
- Responsible for cleaning up PPI issues associated with TN Promise application, UT Promise Applications, and FAFSA.
- Maintain open lines of communication with counselors concerning TN Promise eligibility, UT Promise, various deadlines, financial aid issues.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, 2 years of counseling experience preferred.
- Proficient in FAST, SalesForce, Excel, Word, Google
Physical Demands:
