Finding the right fit:
The Ayres MEP Division is seeking to hire a full-time MEP Services Manager who possesses thought leadership, outstanding client relationships, project leadership, persuasive communication skills, and can manage daily office operations by cultivating a team environment. You’ll be working in collaboration with other leaders across the practice nationally.
As a manager, you’ll be expected to understand the intricacies of the MEP division and capitalize on market opportunities. Your professional acumen will poise you to leverage client relationships to obtain work in various disciplines and with a diverse clientele made up of private owners, operators, and developers as well as public sector clients.
On any given day, you’ll:
- Develop the long-range strategic plan, marketing plan and the annual business plan for the group with particular emphasis on the financial, capital purchase, budget, marketing, and training plan sections.
- Meet the goals and objectives of the annual business plan and budget, including revenue and profitability goals, workload backlog, billing, accounts receivable management, and image development.
- Supervise the work activities of all project managers, engineers, technicians, and other assigned specialists.
- Manage existing service lines as assigned.
- Provide for and guide staff development.
- Oversee the technical production of all project work, assuring that the work is produced on schedule, profitably, and in conformance with the firm's quality standards and the contract's requirements.
- Act as the company representative and spokesperson in the community, as well as being active in civic and professional organizations.
- Conduct business development including client contact, marketing, and monitoring client satisfaction.
- Understand and support corporate policies and procedures.
- Prepare contract documents including scope of work, project schedule, and fee estimates, and review and approve those prepared by group project managers.
- Negotiate contract scope, schedule, and compensation with clients and sub-consultants.
- Prepare and oversee quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Motivate and engage with employee-owner team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering with an appropriate emphasis
- Registered professional engineer (PE) in California.
- 15 years of experience in MEP engineering.
- Prior experience supervising staff, managing projects, and developing new and maintaining existing clients.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Our good-faith compensation approach is fair and equitable, and takes into consideration only permissible factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, training, skills, and experience, and geographic location where the work is performed. A salary range for this posting is $145000 - $200000. The foregoing salary range represents what the company believes, in good-faith, it will pay for the posted opportunity. The individual selected for this role will be evaluated with the compensation factors in mind and placed appropriately.
