San Diego Zoo Wildlife AllianceWarehouse Worker Delivery Driver - Part TimeHOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSIONThe Warehouse Worker / Delivery Driver is located at the San Diego Zoo. Primary duties involve loading vehicles and making deliveries and perform a variety of general warehousing and stores functions.WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Receives and files orders
- Organizes materials for delivery and loads delivery truck
- Delivers materials to multiple sites within the Zoo and the Safari Park
- Makes emergency or special pick-ups and deliveries
- Receives materials delivered to warehouse, checks and inspects items
- Sort and stores stock in warehouse using fork-lifts and dollies
- Keeps warehouse areas and shelves in clean and orderly condition
- Obtains items at designated locations for re-distribution or delivery
- Obtains supplies and materials from outside vendorsWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- JOB EXPERIENCE
- Education, training and / or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the knowledge and skills outlined
- EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Current valid California Driver's License in good standing
- SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Safe driving practices
- California motor vehicle law
- Proper methods of shipping and receiving
- Material storage
- Operate motorized equipment and vehicles
- Understand and carry out instructions
- Learn the safe operation of a folk-lift
- Make simple arithmetic calculations and keep simple records
- Communicate and work effectively with others
- Deal tactfully and courteously with the others
