Quality Technician I - Wood C Crew (6:45PM to 7AM 2/2/3)

This position is in the Wood Dept. on C Crew. The hours are 6:45pm to 7:00am with a 2/2/3 schedule. The pay range is $19.00-$21.50 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential.

Job Summary:

• Acts as auditor for quality results of Production Department
• Acts as point of contact for Production Supervisor and Quality Supervisor regarding quality
• Performs product quality checks every two hours
• Performs hourly part checks
• Responsible for use/handling of quality measuring devices
• Responsible for accurate completion of quality paperwork
• Audits color and part checks
• Responsible for saving/scrapping decisions
• Owns “Red tag process” (marking product of questionable quality).
• Audits process set points
• Performs line clearance / first article inspection
• Generates product package labels for cell
• Audits label and rate schedule
• Collects flex samples
• Maintains standards for product quality-testing areas within plant
• Operates in a manner that provides value to the team
• Additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management

Qualifications: 

• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred
• Experience with ISO9000/QS9000/TS16949 Quality Systems & Auditing, a plus
• Working understanding of TimberTech products and processes, TimberTech product quality requirements and part print reading
• Strong decision making, analytical skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and mathematical abilities
• Must be able to accurately read quality measuring tools (i.e. caliper, micrometer, square, and tape measure)
• Good communication skills
• Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment
• Work schedule flexibility, with or without notice, to accommodate the needs of the business

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED, required
