Position Overview
The Site Controller will serve as the key finance business partner to the Scranton leadership team and take ownership of all financial planning, analysis, cost accounting, capital investment ROI, and productivity delivery for the Scranton site. This position requires a high level of business acumen, integrity, and the ability to drive change. As a Site Controller, your primary goal is to improve financial performance, reduce costs, and ensure optimal productivity at the site.
Key Performance Objectives (First 6–12 Months)
- Financial Process Improvement
- Within 6 months, assess and implement key financial processes and procedures across the Scranton site. Focus on automation and continuous improvement to streamline financial workflows, saving at least 10% in manual processing time.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Within the first year, develop and lead a high-performing finance team that supports the site’s operational and growth initiatives. Achieve an increase of 20% in team engagement scores through structured development plans, regular feedback, and mentorship.
- Cost Savings & ROI
- Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities across the site, aiming to reduce operational costs by at least 5% in the first 12 months. Ensure accurate reporting and analysis of all cost-saving initiatives, with a focus on driving profitability and efficiency.
- Capital Investment & Inventory Control
- Oversee capital investments with a focus on ROI. Successfully implement a capital investment project within 6–12 months, meeting or exceeding forecasted payback periods. Improve inventory control and reporting accuracy, reducing discrepancies by 15% within the first year.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategy Alignment
- Partner with site leadership to align financial forecasting, budgets, and strategy with operations. Achieve a fully integrated financial plan that supports site strategy, improving forecast accuracy by at least 10% within 6 months.
- SOX Compliance & Audit
- Drive full compliance with SOX controls and ensure audit readiness for both internal and external audits within the first 6 months. Achieve a successful audit with no material deficiencies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA, CPA, CMA preferred)
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, including 5 years of leadership in a manufacturing environment with standard cost accounting
- Skills: Proven track record of financial process improvement, leading high-performing teams, and delivering cost savings
- Systems: JD Edwards, Hyperion, Essbase (preferred); Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Communication: Ability to influence cross-functional teams and present financial insights at all levels
