What You’ll Do
- Carry out molecular biology experiments in a regulated laboratory environment
- Carry out sample receiving and help maintain sample storage.
- Perform nucleic acid extractions from a variety of sample types including cell pellets, virus, and stool in a Biosafety Level 2 lab.
- Perform PCR, qPCR, and dPCR
- Perform DNA purification and prepare Sanger sequencing reactions
- Maintain accurate documentation and records (wet bench process).
- Work with team leaders and co-workers to ensure the turnaround time meets customer needs.
- Assist with simple troubleshooting efforts.
- Prepare buffers and related solutions.
- Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Help maintain cleanliness of lab.
- Maintain inventory by ordering and organizing supplies and reagents.
- Carry out the implementation of standard protocols, practices, procedure and techniques for effective and safe operations of the laboratory.
- Additional tasks as needed.
What You Will Bring
- BS or BA in Biological Sciences required.
- 1 years of related lab experience required.
- Experience in Sanger lab preferred.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced customer-oriented environment.
- Highly motivated and well organized.
- Independent, detailed oriented, team player.
- Closely follow Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to react to situations with a sense of urgency.
