How You’ll Make an Impact
Our Lab Techs strictly adhere to laboratory SOPs to ensure quality and safety while handling samples for Sanger Sequencing. They are proactive, detail oriented, able to meet tight deadlines, and strive in fast-paced work environments. They understand the big picture, while paying attention to the details. They understand our customer needs with empathy and know that everything they do is making a difference. On-site training will be provided.
What You’ll Do
- Receiving specimens and accessioning in the LIMS systems. Accurately identify, label and store specimen at proper conditions. Specimens received may include, but are not limited to, those classified as Research Use Only, Clinical, or GxP.
- Properly comment on any additional or missing information and contact office staff with a request.
- Promptly notifies immediate supervisor of exceptions and / or unusual occurrences.
- Properly handles and stores ambient, refrigerated, and frozen specimens. Properly discard specimen according to SOP.
- Receive department reagents and consumables. Accurately document items received, label and store in designated lab area.
- Pack and ship remaining specimens back to customers upon request.
- Properly operate centrifuges, dispose of contaminated materials, keep work areas supplied and clean.
- Assist lab scientists with the operation of standard laboratory instruments.
- Clean work area, surrounding laboratory after completion of workday.
- Handle hazardous waste in accordance to preset policies, protocols and regulatory standards.
- Perform routine laboratory assistant duties according to SOP.
- Perform lab procedures in accordance with SOPs and CLIA / CAP regulations.
