Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the comprehensive tooling management system, ensuring accurate tracking, storage, and distribution of all tools.
- Help manage and maintain inventory levels of tools and equipment in the tool tracking system.
- Ensures efficient tool storage and retrieval processes.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) Department to assist with tool calibration, maintenance, and repair schedules.
- Track and manage the tool check-in and check-out procedures.
- Maintain and perform regular audits of tool inventory, maintaining an accurate record of tool usage, location, and condition to ensure compliance with all company regulations and guidelines.
- Coordinate with Tooling Manager and Procurement to identify and fulfill tool and equipment needs as required.
- Maintain tool history records and support the tool recycling and maintenance process.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors for tool acquisition, maintenance, and replacement needs.
- Apply procedures to improve tool tracking system organization and efficiency, optimizing tool life and reducing downtime.
- Ensure all internal and external communications are handled professionally, including the management of tool-related issues and requests from team members.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on tool usage, distribution and overall best practices.
- Generate continuous cost savings by working with suppliers to extend tool life, reduce tool costs, and optimize tool management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- General knowledge of industrial tools, their functions, and safety procedures for handling and storing tools and equipment.
- Working knowledge of CNC machines; at least 3 months preferred of directly related training and/or experience operating manual machines or CNC machines in a manufacturing setting.
- Preferred experience in tool tracking system management, inventory control, and tooling process optimization.
- Demonstrated proficiency using computerized inventory management systems and tools like MS Excel for tracking and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ideally with the ability to address tool-related issues efficiently.
- Preferred familiarity with tool life management strategies and cost reduction opportunities in tooling.
- Able to read Blueprints preferred but not required.
- General knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 as it pertain to the job, on-the-job training provided.
- Required knowledge of basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with all levels of the company.
Requirements:
1. At least 1 years of experience in tooling management or related field in a manufacturing environment.
2. General operating knowledge of industrial tools.
3. Knowledge of industry-standard safety regulations.
4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
5. Willingness to work flexible hours, including being available for emergency tool requests outside regular work hours.
6. Basic Data Entry, MS Excel and Word.
7. High School Diploma or equivalent.
8. Strong organizational skills in an ever-changing environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.19 - $20.22 per hour
