Senior Character Designer (Game Design)
Azra Games is recapturing the childhood thrill of storytelling with your entire toy box for modern AAA gaming. We are dedicated to one genre, role-playing games, and led by veteran designer Mark Otero (Zero-to-one director of Star Wars : Galaxy of Heroes, EA's most successful mobile game of all time, with $1.5B lifetime revenue). Azra has assembled an expert team with decades of experience building blockbuster games. Our debut release, Legions & Legends, will be Mark's ninth RPG. And his best. Azra Games believes in harnessing the power of technology, with a focus on generative AI, to radically disrupt & transform game development.
Azra Games is seeking a highly skilled and experienced character gameplay designer to help create unforgettable characters, abilities, and equipment for our upcoming AAA game. As a character designer, you will be responsible for creating memorable characters and capabilities that move the meta forward. You'll work on a cross discipline team of artists, engineers, writers, and more to develop compelling characters that resonate with players globally.
What You'll Do :
- Design character abilities, kits, and behaviors to fit and expand the meta framework
- Refine character visual designs and functions to fit narrative backstory and worldbuilding
- Understand and help to develop the overall combat meta framework
- Anticipate team synergies and deficiencies against the challenges players will encounter
- Design equipment and effects that elevate overall player experience and drive player deckbuilding decisions
- Collaborate with combat, enemy, and level designers to create characters that maximize all aspects of the player experience
- Refine and improve character designs based on the feedback from the development team, playtests, and other sources
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and best practices in character design and contribute to the evolution of our game's artistic style

Base Salary Range : $81,800-$122,700. The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
