Telecommunications Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications systems and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of cabling, electrical systems, and mechanical knowledge to ensure optimal performance of communication networks. The Telecommunications Technician will work both independently and as part of a team in various field service environments.

Duties

• Install and configure telecommunications equipment, including security systems and cabling.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on existing systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to build and repair telecommunications infrastructure.
• Conduct inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions for their telecommunications requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service requests for reporting purposes.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in telecommunications technology to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in field service related to telecommunications or similar technical roles.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work with hand tools effectively.
• Familiarity with computer hardware and the ability to troubleshoot basic computer-related issues.
• Experience in cabling installation, including fiber optics and copper wiring.
• Basic locksmithing skills are a plus for securing telecommunications equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical systems as they relate to telecommunications installations is preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
