Responsibilities
- Clearly explain driving concepts, rules, and safety measures to students of varying backgrounds and ages in an online classroom.
- Instruct students on traffic laws and safe driving techniques
- Demonstrate patience and effective communication during lessons
- Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment for students
Apprenticeship Opportunities
- We can provide instructor training to serious candidates who are interested in becoming instructors who do not have their MVA instructor badge
- Apprenticeship takes 6 months
- Must be at least 21 years old, have a high school or college degree, have a clean driving record over the last 3 years, have no reportable medical conditions, and must be able to do a background check
Requirements for instructors
- Must have an MVA instructor certification badge and a clean driving record
- Must be able to teach classroom lessons in-person Mondays-Thursdays from 6pm to 9:15pm, remote teaching might be available later this year
- Experience in classroom management or working with students
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate students in the classroom
Pay for instructors with full badge: $20/hr
Pay for apprentices: $16/hr
Expected hours: 10-25 hours a week (Note: full time is optional if doing behind-the-wheel training as well as classroom instruction.)
