QA Technician

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO ROTATE EVERY TWO WEEKS ON THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE: 7AM-3PM; 11PM-7AM; 3PM-11PM. ROTATING IS A REQUIRMENT. THIS POSITION IS ELGIBLE FOR THE ATTENDANCE BONUS.

JOB SUMMARY: Total Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality of product through proven QA methods, evaluates the in-process and finished product quality, interacts with frontline supervisors on quality issues, and must always report to TQ Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:

• Perform all the physical and chemical tests in the Milling and Packing areas.
• Be able to perform some miscellaneous tasks like:
• Inspect sifter tailings
• Lime purity
• Release corn transfers to production
• Clean work area
• Be able to perform other functions when necessary.
• Comply with Azteca Milling Policies.
• Perform all analysis according to training matrix.
• Input data into SAP
• To know and apply Food Safety Policy principles in relation to all work-related activities and the importance of full compliance of the program.
• To know and apply Quality and Food Safety principles and all applicable instructions in all related activities to ensure the achievement of safety objectives.
• To know the Food Safety Management System and support in its implementation, maintenance, and improvement.
• To know and apply Environmental Policy principles while maintaining awareness of related activities and contribute to the program’s successful performance and compliance.
• To perform all activities and avoid creating significant environmental impacts by following guidelines established in the Environmental Management Systems documents.
• Understand and apply the Environmental Management System documents applicable to my role, with an awareness of the relevance and importance of my activities to achieve EMS objectives, including environmental protection and compliance with applicable legal requirements.
• Other responsibilities established in the EMS Authority and Responsibility Matrix
• Employees holding this position will be required to perform and any other job-related duties as requested by management such as hours worked and general cleaning.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• Highschool or GED
• Read and write English and/or Spanish.
• Able to use a hand calculator.*
• Minimal computer skills.*

*This skill will be observed during the first three months of work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

§ Physical Requirements: Climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, vision, and repetitive motions.

• Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects.

§ Environmental Conditions: Both inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, humidity, noise, vibration, hazard, and atmospheric conditions.
