Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols.
- Take dental X-rays including CBCTs as needed, ensuring patient safety and comfort during the process.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes, using Eaglesoft software.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, various dental procedures and treatment option, and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling, electronic communications, and follow-up communications with patients.
- Support patients with a gentle, compassionate approach to create a positive experience in the dental clinic.
- Assist in procedures by preparing materials and instruments as required, including lab work, model printing and manufacturing of various dental appliances.
- Ensure that the dental clinic is clean, organized, and compliant with all health regulations.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry or specialized setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques is highly desirable as well as intraoral scanning, photography, 3D printing, and ceramic crown customization.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Eaglesoft for record management is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and safety is essential.
- CRP certification and experience with X-ray technology and procedures is required.
- Background in pediatrics, ortho, or prosthodontics (especially dentures and cosmetic dentistry) will be considered an advantage.
- Ability to navigate computers and quickly learn various software applications is a must.
