Senior Urban Designer

WXY Studio is seeking a full-time Senior Urban Designer to join its dynamic New York City team. This role requires an ability to handle a full range of urban design , land use, zoning, landscape, and master planning proposals. This position will be an integral part of the WXY’s design team and require close collaboration with the entire design team, office principals, consultants, and clients.ResponsibilitiesProject management, including oversight of urban design project development, presentations, project progress, schedules, and budgets, and direction of drawings and visualizationsSupport master planning, senior level urban design and landscape projects with high quality graphic communication, drawings and 3D visualizationConduct site analyses, massing and zoning studies, and development of project scenarios and proposalsDevelopment of organized content workflow throughout production consistent with office procedures and standardsReport directly to project leads and office Principals and Associate PrincipalsTimely completion of all design materialsRequired SkillsStrong urban design and representational skillsStrong awareness of contemporary and historical trends in urban design and city planning, along with recent developments in technology, place-building, landscape, and developmentUnderstanding of urban design development dynamics and city processes, including zoning, street design, green infrastructure, and other urban systemsSoftware requirements include : Rhino, Enscape, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative SuiteStrong technical aptitude and ability to learn new digital toolsExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to take initiative in response to directionA flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and a commitment to excellenceAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines efficientlyGreat interpersonal communication and presentation skillsExperience & QualificationsAble to work in the USA and begin work immediatelyFluent in English (excellent written and verbal skills)5-10 years urban design, architecture and / or city planning experience with direct experience in management and support of urban design / planning projectsMaster’s Degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, City Planning (with a focus on physical planning), or Architecture with a focus on urban scale projects, public realm design, and master planning.If you are interested in applying for the Senior Urban Designer position at WXY, please submit your cover letter, CV, portfolio and salary requirements in PDF format to jobs@wxystudio.com .#J-18808-Ljbffr
