Service Maintenance Technician

As a Pool Service Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining residential and commercial pool facilities by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and water chemistry testing to ensure a hassle-free swimming experience for customers. Key Responsibilities:
- Vacuum pool debris, skim surface, brush pool walls and tiles to remove dirt and algae.
- Regularly test pool water for pH levels, chlorine concentrations, and other chemicals, maintaining Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) balance.
- Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, filters, and heaters.
- Perform minor repairs to equipment, such as damage filters, gaskets, O-rings, leaks in pipes or fittings, adjusting loose components. Lubricating moving parts to ensure smooth operation.
- In a commercial application, maintain records of chlorine and pH levels, time sheets, and supplies.
- Identify parts needed and place accurate, detailed part requests with office.
- Assist with emergency repair situations
- Perform pool start-ups and winterizations, ensuring all procedures are followed correctly to prevent freeze damage on all types of pool equipment. Stay informed on the latest best practices for proper winterization.
- Understand safe methods of draining and cleaning pools to prevent pool popping or structural damage.
- Inform homeowners and the office of non-compliance safety code issues.
- Complete work orders and record all activities, including services done, before/after pictures, and chemical readings and dosages.
- Keep the truck organized and stocked
- Follow and Promote safety procedures
What you’ll need to be successful in this role, training will be provided:
- Experience with plumbing & electrical work preferred.
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Knowledge of pool water circulation, equipment operation & maintenance, pool chemicals and chemical handling.
- Comfortably interacting with clients, as needed.
- Dependability, and the ability to adapt to changing demands.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, focus, and accuracy.
- Ability to work with a team, follow directions, and complete tasks.
- Work towards a goal to take on a service technician’s role.
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Valid driver’s license and 3 years minimum driving experience
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods
- Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and grasp
- Capability to lift moderate to heavy objects, typically around 50 lbs., with occasional requirements to lift up to 75 lbs.
