Service Technician
As a Service Technician, you will maintain the cleanliness and overall health status of the swimming pools you manage. This includes regularly testing water chemistry, adding required chemicals to sanitize and balance the water; cleaning pool surfaces, and regularly inspecting and repairing pool equipment as required. Your goal is to maintain your designated pools to ensure trouble-free use, consistently exceeding the customer’s expectations.
What you’ll do in your role:
- Properly maintain and care for your truck, equipment and tools.
- Stay aware of replacing any pool wear parts to ensure smooth and hassle-free pool operation.
- Possess the knowledge to offer recommendations for equipment upgrades, suggest new finish options, evaluate maintenance needs, and provide a pool safety analysis.
- Comprehensive water analysis and proper adjustments. Add ancillary chemicals based on bather load, weather conditions and time of year.
- Identify when an extensive repair is needed and report issues to your supervisor. Assist the office in quoting the repair.
- Identify possible pool leaks, troubleshoot the probable location. Assist the office in quoting the repair.
- Do all proper pool winterizing procedures to prevent freezing damage.
- Provide training for coworkers or assistants.
- Complete work orders and record all activities, including services done, before/after pictures, and chemical readings and dosages.
- Keep the truck organized and stocked
- Follow and Promote safety procedures
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of pool maintenance experience required.
- A valid, active driver’s license.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- CMS, Certified Maintenance Professional designation is required.
- Knowledge of pool water circulation, pool chemicals, and chemical handling.
- Understanding of pool equipment operations and maintenance.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively interact with clients.
- Dependability, and the ability to adapt to changing workload demands.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, focus, and accuracy.
- Ability to work with a team, follow directions, give directions, and complete tasks.
- Capability to lift moderate to heavy objects, typically around 50 lbs., with occasional requirements to lift up to 75 lbs.
Certifications required at the time of hiring or to be scheduled upon employment:
- CSP Certification, Certified Service Professional.
- CPO, Certified Pool Operator.
- OSHA 10, 30 & SST10 training to ensure adherence to safety standards on the job.
